The Cuban Vibes Quintet is a new Latin inspired event in the Sydney jazz scene. Featuring some groovy arrangements from Maree Steinway plus top piano and vocals, and more arrangements from group leader Glenn Henrich (vibes, flute, piccolo and sax), the band also boasts new talent from drummer Matt Moore and seasoned playing from double bassist, Winston Sterling (veteran of Macambo Quartet and S.S.O.), and percussionist (congas,vibes and marimba), Ian Bloxsom (S.S.O. and many Jazz and Fusion groups vet.).  The band enjoys assing on more percussion to highlight the Cuban sound.

Some featured arrangements are Mambo Inn, Miss Who, ESP Samba, Giant Steps Latin, Perdido Cha Cha, Leyte, Triste and Curacao by Cal Tjader, and Pensativa and Morning- Bossa Novas by Clare Fischer.

The group premiered at Manly Jazz Festival, 2002 and  performed next at the Central Coast Leagues Club February this year, see photo below:
